Dr. Patricia Gregg

Originally from Montrose, Colorado, Dr. Gregg is a 1995 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. She started her practice in Austin after graduation and continues to be active in the NUCCA organization. She is part II Certified and is currently working on part III, the final certification in the NUCCA organization. Dr. Gregg teaches Biomechanics, X-ray analysis and adjusting steps at the NUCCA conferences held twice a year, as well as the NUCCA elective taught at Palmer College. Over the past 10 years she has had many interns that have come to train with her that went on to open their own practices and/or are now currently working in her practice.

Dr. Gregg says she's frequently asked about how she became interested in chiropractic care and NUCCA. She replies, "In my first year of undergraduate studies at the age of 18, I was home for the Christmas holidays. While out sledding with friends on a country road, I was run over by a Dodge 4x4. Although I had no apparent "serious" injuries, a few months later my body started to break down and give out. Anxiety, sciatica, dystonia, severe neck and back pain were a few of the problems I started to experience. After seeing alternative providers for 5 years after the accident, it was only after I had my first NUCCA adjustment that my health and my life started to come back." She absolutely loves what she does and is grateful for the blessing of being able to share this with people.

Away from the office she is active in Heartwork, an organization that allows one to open their heart and be present in each moment. She loves to travel and do yoga.

Chiropractic, and NUCCA in particular, is amazing work! I am humbled and enthralled everyday by the powers inherent in the body, its ability to heal and change and by my small part in the process.

A native of Ames, Iowa, I received my B.S. in Animal Science from Iowa State University and spent 2 years working with dairy farmers in Wisconsin. I then ventured into the travel industry and spent several years living and working in resort destinations both domestic and international, escorting motorcoach tours all over the world and last, corporate meeting planning for DuPont and DuPont Merck Pharmaceuticals.

I began seeing a chiropractor after a friend told me she thought I’d be a good one and found that the chiropractic philosophy of “healing from within” made sense to me. Two years later, I was enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

I started under NUCCA care while in school after some pressure by a friend. Immediately following my first adjustment I thought I’d been “scammed” and that absolutely nothing had happened! But as I was walking to my car I felt like my feet were more solid with the ground. When I got home, I fell asleep for four hours. When I went for a run several days later, my knee didn’t hurt for the first time in years! And slowly but surely, the vertigo that I had had for 25 years after being hit by a car started going away. With all those changes from an adjustment that “felt like nothing”, how could I do anything else?!

Dr. Scott Sweeney

Growing up in northeast Ohio, Dr. Sweeney recognized an early appreciation for typical chiropractic care. Moving heavy furniture while helping his parents in the furniture store led him to his local chiropractor. It wasn't until engulfed in his studies at Life University did he fully understand the chiropractic adjustment, and eventually the NUCCA technique, as a powerful partner in the attainment of quality health and well-being.

Dr. Sweeney attended high school in Indiana at the Culver Military Academy. Upon graduation he went on to study Business and Economics at High Point University in North Carolina. Dr. Sweeney's first career after college was in the concrete industry. That, coupled with a landscaping project, led him to a life altering friendship with his chiropractor. With his wife Elizabeth's encouragement and support, they headed to Marietta, Georgia where Scott attended Life University to study chiropractic. It was here that he embraced a passion for helping others achieve the quality of life he had come to experience through chiropractic care. Seasonal colds became mild to non-existent, allergies waned, and his own severe low back issues faded into a memory. It was also here that Dr. Sweeney built relationships with several NUCCA doctors whom to this day remain mentors.

Dr. Sweeney completed his studies at Palmer College in San Jose, California and joined the practice of Back N Balance in 2004. He has quickly developed a thriving practice based on referrals that continues to grow. He has been an active member of the NUCCA organization since 2001. He is currently working to expand his NUCCA credentials through a rigorous certification process. Dr. Sweeney is also certified by Activator Methods and continues his education with courses such as nutritional consultation.

Dr. Sweeney and his wife welcomed their son Samuel in the spring of 2006. In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, working on Jeeps, creating things, and spending time with his family.

My passion is to make my practice life changing for others, whether it is to keep you in shape for the game, running on the trail, or to get you out of pain, I look forward to serving you as the newest doctor at Back N Balance.

I was raised in Colfax,Wisconsin near Eau Claire. Colfax is a farm town with no stop lights and more cows than people. I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian from an early age until I realized that the sight of blood might be involved.

After a tour of Palmer College of Chiropractic with some friends, and learning about the history of chiropractic and the Palmer family, I made a decision to study chiropractic.

I learned about the NUCCA technique through some of my new found classmates. I attended my first NUCCA conference in Chicago, IL. What sold me on the technique was listening to the amazing stories and talking to the Doctors that were practicing this rare form of chiropractic. I knew then that I wouldn’t be able to work everyday if I was practicing anything other than NUCCA. I attended conferences as a student and met Dr. Patricia Gregg when she came to Palmer to teach a weekend seminar. Months later she asked me to move to Austin, TX to train under her. It was the offer of a lifetime! so I packed up my stuff and my dog, Dakota, and we headed south. I have been at Back N Balance since March 2006 and look forward to building my practice in Austin.
